김유림 개인전 《나를 먼저 본 당신》
《나를 먼저 본 당신》은 우리의 삶에 놓인 다양한 경계를 탐구하며, 이를 회화와 설치미술로 시각화합니다.
전시 제목의 ‘나’와 ‘당신’의 관계는 인간과 비인간의 관계뿐만 아니라, 작가와 관객, 그리고 더 나아가 주체와 타자의 관계 등으로 해석될 수 있는 여지를 열어두며, 이를 통해 시선의 주권이 작동하는 방식과 그로부터 파생되는 타자성(Otherness)의 개념을 성찰합니다.
삶과 죽음, 주체와 타자 사이를 오가며 그 사이의 틈을 응시하는 본 전시는, 외상과 상실 속에서도 그 경계 안에 잠재된 목소리에 응답하는 새로운 인식의 가능성을 제시합니다.
《You—Who Saw Me First》
《You—Who Saw Me First》 explores the diverse boundaries that shape our lives through painting and installation. The relationship between “me” and “you” in the exhibition’s title is deliberately left open to interpretation—it may suggest the connection between humans and non-humans, between artist and viewer, or, more broadly, between the subject and the Other. In doing so, the exhibition reflects on how visual authority is exercised and contemplates the notion of Otherness that emerges from it.
Moving between life and death, between the subject and the Other, the exhibition gazes into the spaces in between, proposing new ways of perceiving the latent voices that reside within these thresholds, even in the wake of loss and trauma.
